A tribute to a colleague – Fallen to Covid

One of our colleagues “Hanuman” who recently succumbed to Covid after fighting a battle, that we thought was nearly won. It was written after the team meeting where none of us could speak out due to choked emotions and gushing feelings.

When Covid, the virus struck
Did not expect us, to get into this muck,
But a year later, nothing has changed
For it is making us, more deranged.

Over the world, lives lost
We have lost, people whom we love most,
Falling to the virus, like nine pins,
and the human race, with no sight of a win.

Covid, struck again, our team
and hit us hard, over the beam,
With our lovable team member, Hanuman
For we had hopes, that he will be home again, man.

Nothing is going right, for the world
cause the virus has hit hard, at the world,
No words, for our man’s loss
T’is a big blow for his family, at this loss.

In the meeting, we had
the mood all solemn and sad,
Voices, choked and emotions strung
having us all think, what went wrong.

As events unfold, of lives or health lost
We gotta, be strong and not be lost,
In this maze of suffering and darkness
Hold on! We still can fight this darkness.
Follow the simple rules, we been doing
all these days, sanitizing, washing and undoing,
the mistakes, we could to keep the virus at bay
and not let it, have its way.
