Being born in Maharashtra and having my life spend in the hinterland of Maharashtra; I will call myself as a Maharashtrian by heart. The most profound inspiration is that of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. His glorious Maratha Empire that he carved out amidst the mighty Mughal era is a folklore amongst the people of Maharashtra.

Our world has endured two great wars, World War I and World War II. They sure were wars to assert supremacy, extend the political boundaries, and bring others to their knees. Bring others to their knees, they sure did that; but at what cost. At the cost of millions of lives and millions who suffered after the war due to malnutrition, starvation, disease, and panic killings.

I guess, this is what motivates us to give that little extra, to take that little extra risk, to go all out and bring a change in our lives.

A welcome break, I had and spend some time alone. A big stress reliever and immediately, I followed my instincts to spend a few minutes and do a sketch or two. It was the week following the Easter and the topic vivid in my mind – Jesus.

Hey Folks!!! I’m back to my ways, sketching in my free time as before. For my old timer friends, this would not come as a surprise, but aaaah yes, it will be a new face for my new friends.

Sketching is one of my favorite pastimes… I indulge in it when I feel that I am really in that frame of mind. To clear my thoughts and conjure up my imagination. An imagination we humans are well adept at and we know what we can do.

Nov.29, 2011 has already been declared as a hartaal for showing solidarity with the people of Kerala on the Mullaperiyar dam issue. I had already taken permission from my Delivery Manager to work from home and only come to office for the scrum meet with the client.

A day in the life of a software professional is beset with tight schedules and deadlines. In order to make my daily grind interesting and fruitful; I sometimes do involve in doing 3 to 4 minute sketches to break the monotony. All the sketches are done on a business visiting card (definitely obsolete cards…)
